Iray Surfaces And What They Mean
I've updated and corrected this article based on DAZ's documentation. You should read that if you want more information. This will continue to be more of a "plain talk" breakdown.
Let us begin with the different types of shaders from the "Base Mixing" dropdown at the top. Choosing one of these will hide or gray out some options and reveal others.
The Iray shader behaves as though it has three layers: The "base" layer, the "metallic flakes" layer on top of that, and the "top coat layer" on top of that. It is possible to turn off the top two layers and not use their settings, but the ability to use them is a property this shader has that

[Tutorial] Tidying Your Genesis Morph List
This tutorial is to help you deal with quickly reorganizing your morph directories for Genesis. It will eventually probably apply to Genesis 2 as well, but hopefully knowing this you can keep things from getting as messy as I know my Genesis Actor groups are.

But First: EVERYTHING NEEDS TO GO UNDER ACTOR.
This is all that's required for them to appear in the Shaping tab. I don't care about this, because I think the Shaping tab is completely unnecessary, but it may save you a few complaints if you release products or freebies. Also, if you want to offer a product to DAZ, they prefer morphs to appear under Actor as well.

Adzan's Hirogens (link to adult site) are a fantastic free set of genitalia, originally for Hiro 3, that are still great now. You can't use your Genesis 2 Male genitalia textures with them, but you won't need to - you just need to buy this product from Jepe, which has every natural skin tone imaginable in it and is cheap, and I do mean cheap, at the price he sells it for (certainly more so than buying a pro bundle to get the DAZ gens).
He also sells such a set for the UlfGens and one for the M4 Gens (same freebie link for UlfGens, expansions at the same store as the linked one), giving you even more options. The UlfGens also have an M4 map
